Food Prices and Diabetes
Posted on Apr 04, 2008 under General diabetes information |I use to think that the price of food was really bad so I always stocked up on the cheep stuff like mac and cheese and Raman noodles. Now I have to buy healthy and it’s horrible. It hasn’t been a huge problem until recently, now the price of gas is crazy and I have to pay $60 a week to drive to school. Hopefully when I get my new car next week that will change. Until then I have a limited amount of money to spend and no freezer room. It sucks as I use to get diet meals to eat. Not the best I know, but better then mac and cheese in a box.
Now my mom is back to buying in bulk and I have no room to put anything frozen so everything needs to be fresh. That means spending more money. I wish there was a way around this, but it’s not like I can just skip a meal. I think this is the worst part of being diabetic. Having no money and no help for something I can’t control. I have to eat, or I’ll get sick, but apparently that is not that big of a deal.
