They don’t know whats wrong with me!

I decided I better make a doctors appointment today because the last 2 days had been horrible. I called and got in this morning. They ran a few test and couldn’t find anything. The doctor I saw was not my normal doctor, but she works in the same office. She thinks I have acid reflux so I now am on a prescription for the next month. She still thinks I could have some other issues so I got to do more blood work. So much fun.

Hopefully it will be nothing as I have felt fine today, that would be my luck. I just now hate having to wait and see whats up. It’s very annoying. The other good news though is I found out what was wrong with my A1C test, the number went up. I was at 5.7 now I’m 6.3. I figured that might be it, I haven’t been able to eat well the last few months because of school.

Weight loss weigh in

Well today was good as I actually lost weight, unfortunately it was only one pound, so that still leaves me weighing more then what I did when I started keeping track on this blog, at least I think so.

I just don’t have time to do anything right now, classes are horrible still and I just don’t know what to do. I was hoping this summer would be better, but I don’t think it will be. I want to move in August so that way I can get going on some of this, but I’m still not sure I can. I’ll just have to see.

A very active weekend

No I’m not talking about this weekend. In fact the highlight of this weekend for my family is breaking into the ice cream pizza from swans and sitting around doing nothing. I’m talking about a few weeks from now when I am going to the Michigan NASCAR race. I’m excited about it, but I’m also worried. This is the first time since being diagnosed as a diabetic that I will be going to a race and I’m not exactly sure how to handle it. My sister loves to run around like crazy and do everything, my niece may slow her down though so it may not be as bad.

I’m taking my monitor with me of course and plan on checking my sugar a lot. We can take food in but I know we can’t fit enough for me to get all of my carbs for meals in the bag we can carry. I’m hoping I can find something thats not too expensive to eat in there. I think Friday will be the worst one because I have to eat both lunch and dinner inside the track. Sunday the Race should end early enough that I don’t have to, but I’ll still have to save money just in case.

If anyone reading this has any advice I would love to hear it!

Why did I do it!

I’m sitting here writing this with a pretty high blood sugar. I have not checked it as I don’t want to know how high it is. It’s not over 200 I know that much I would be sick to my stomach right now if it were. It is over 150 though as I have a huge headache. I made the mistake of opening a bag of cheesy popcorn (the healthy stuff at least) and eating the whole thing. The equivalent of a meal for me.

I now remember why I hate having a high blood sugar. Tomorrow I am picking up healthy food and I’m going to try to get back on track. Diet meals here I come! I know it’s better to make your own food but it’s also very expensive. If I get diet meals on sale they cost 2.50 each and I don’t have to worry about measuring it. It’s only for lunch anyway and I try to actually cook something twice a week so it’s good. Once I move out of my mom’s I should be able to meal plan better.

Anyway I’m tired and off to bed. Hopefully I feel better in the morning.

Water weight

I have decided that I have been very dehydrated but retaining water in my legs. Today I decided since I didn’t have school to drink as much water as possible. Well it’s working, the swelling has gone down in my legs and I feel better. My stomach is still giving me a few issues so I may have to call on that Tuesday. Hopefully it’s nothing serious.

I think many people who have weight issues need to look at how much water or liquid the consume. I’ve gone a little overboard but that was just a jump start. I believe most people don’t get all of the water or liquid they need in a day. The 8 glasses a day thing is silly, but for some people 5 glasses may be good plus the food and other things you drink have water. With summer coming you want to stay as hydrated as possible.

gaining weight

I’ve started gaining weight, I think I’m retaining water and it sucks. I’m not sure what to do about it yet it’s only been going on for about a week. It’s not as bad as it was last week, but it still sucks. Right now I’m just trying to drink a ton of water for a few days and see if that will help any. I need to lose weight, but I just don’t have any energy. I try to do some stuff but I get so worn out it’s crazy. I’m hoping once I’m done with school in 2 weeks it will get better. I’m doing all online classes so at least I won’t be eating out as much.

Fat people cause global warming.

I hate that statement too. Apparently some medical journal published this and I think someone should have thought about it before they did. I just don’t get why everyone blames everything on the fat person. Women are blamed more because their emotional and it’s all their own fault, men overeat just because there men, women need to control their emotional eating. Well I don’t do emotional eating, I eat because I’m hungry or bored. I’ve stopped that because of the diabetes, but I haven’t lost that much weight from it.

Anyway the article I read on ABC news talked about the article and looked at the research side who said they didn’t mean any harm by this study, and the other side that ask why blame fat people for something else. The study claims that overweight people eat more so that means more food needs to be produced and overweight people are more likely to ride in a car then walk. I think overweight people have enough problems, now instead of being told don’t eat food thats why your fat we are going to be told don’t do anything because your the reason for global warming. I just can’t believe that someone actually published this without thinking of the effect it would have on overweight people.

There are many healthy weight people that think overweight people are the cause of all evil and will do anything to make them feel horrible. This of course is more common in high school and college, but it’s still around everywhere. I experience it a lot. Men won’t date me because I’m not a size 2 and a trophy they can show off to their friends. You get passed over for jobs because people think your lazy, or you don’t’ look the part, the part being a thin beautiful women.

The swelling is back, it stinks!

Before I was diagnosed with diabetes I was put on water pills by my Doctor because my feet and legs were swollen. They helped a lot and I was really happy when the swelling went down. Last night it came back and has not gone away yet, it’s gotten better but my feet are still swollen. I’m hoping that today I can get it to come down as I’m going grocery shopping and I have to walk to take pictures for a class. I guess we will have to see. I may have to call my doctor on Monday if it doesn’t go away.  I may even if it does as I’m having some stomach issues and pain in my chest. I’ve gotten the pain before and usually it goes away in a day, this time it’s sticking around. If it gets to bad I may end up in the emergency room. Fun!

Starting over

I’ve decided I need to start my weight loss goal over. I haven’t lost anything in months and my blood sugar has been crazy. I don’t have the motivation I use to. I’m depressed, stressed and very unhappy and there is nothing I can do about it. I think it’s time to just let it go. Everyone tells me I have to do this for me and thats nice and all, but I’m not a me person. It’s hard for me to be a me person. I’m happy when everyone around me is happy. I’m still depressed, but at least I know the people around me are doing okay.

So I have some new goals to set for summer. I want to lose 10lbs. I want to find something I like to do, since I have been informed that I’m boring. I’m going to try very hard to be interested in something I use to be. I had hobbies once. I let them all go, nothing seems to make me happy anymore. I can’t afford to take classes or anything but I can try to buy something that will help me make things. Which brings me to my next goal. Buy a potters wheel. I use to love pottery as a teen and I think it would be a great way to relax. I know being able to relax is a great way to help your blood sugar.

My last goal is to get back into my exercise routine. I haven’t been doing well with that at all and I hate myself for it. I know it needs to be done. My body is even screaming at me. My plan is to get a set of belly dance videos and use those. I’m going to buy them this time instead of rent. That way I have them no matter what.

Mixed messages

I’m a diabetic and I’m a Christan, A year ago as of last week I was spared from death I believe because I was suppose to live for some reason. If I had gotten to the hospital just 2 hours after I did I would have had kidney failure and died.

This week though I have decided that God really has no idea what he/she is doing. As some of you who read this blog know I do paid posting on a few of my other blogs. It helps pay the bills and the gas for me to go to school. It’s helped with a few medical bills, but I would love to make more. Anyway yesterday and this morning I exercised. Guess what happened when I went to do that. Yesterday 3 $100+ jobs on pay per post dropped and I missed them, today one did and I spent the whole hour before I went to do my workout refreshing the page to try and get something.

So I have decided that God is punishing me for exercising. I just can’t figure out why. Once I do I’ll let you know. Of course he could just be telling me I shouldn’t be so greedy. who knows!
